Rescue Dog Standard Search Guidelines

  • Age range of 1.5 to 5 year’s old
  • Good with dogs, kids and adults (cats when applicant has a cat(s)
  • Calm temperament
  • Low/medium energy level
  • Gentle, very friendly and loving
  • Confident (not timid or fearful or separation anxiety)
  • Healthy
  • Spayed/Neutered
  • 20-50 pounds (adjusted for specific needs of the applicant)
  • No aggression or reactivity
  • Not a jumper
  • Not a mouther
  • Quiet (not a barker)

Rescue Dog Assessment Form

Dog Assessment Form (To be completed by the assessor) Include pictures and videos of the suitable dogs during assessment. (minimum 30 second videos of 1) Walking on leash, 2) playing with a human(s), 3) playing with other dogs, 4) cat testing if you have that ability, 5) full body touch assessment). To be able to save what you write in the assessment form, you will need to open the pdf and then save it with the dog’s name and the reopen it and complete the form and save. If you are having problems with the format and want to put it in another template, please feel free as long as the same information is in it.
