How to Edit WordPress Website Pages
- When logged in to WordPress:
- To access backend click Dashboard on top left
- Click Pages
- Scroll or Search for the page you are looking for
- Click Edit
- Once edit page opens, you can edit the content in the box, if content text appears.
- Click Save
- Click Update
- Click Avada or Beaver Builder if no content text in box appears. (This will open the editing page)
- Click the middle of the page once editing page opens.
- Edit the content
- Click Save
- Click Done
- Click Publish
- Confirm all changes
OR
- When logged in to WordPress:
- Click The LifeLine Canada Foundation or Companion Paws on the top left
- Once edit page opens, you can edit the content in the box, if content text appears.
- Click Save
- Click Update
- Click Aveda or Beaver Builder if no content text in box appears. (This will open the editing page)
- Click the middle of the page once editing page opens.
- Edit the content
- Click Save
- Click Done
- Click Publish
- Confirm all changes
How to add a pdf link into WordPress page (e.g., Volunteer Resources)
- Login to WordPress
- Go to thelifelinecanada.ca/volunteer-resources
- Click Edit Page at top
- Scroll down in the middle of the Container, WHICH WILL TURN WHITE, and click the paint brush symbol that pops up in middle of the container. (container is the block that has text/content in it)
- Scroll to where you want to add the document
- Write – NAME OF DOCUMENT (as you want it to show on the page)
- Copy – NAME OF DOCUMENT
- Click Add Media at top
- Click Upload Files
- Add the pdf
- Add NAME OF DOCUMENT into the Title (otherwise the name will be the pdf file name)
- Click Update
- Bold the NAME OF DOCUMENT (on the resources page)
- Click the pencil (edit)
- Click the Gear
- Click Checkbox “Open Link in New Tab”
- Click Update
- Click Update at bottom of main edit page (IMPORTANT or the item will not save!)NOTE: IF YOU ARE REPLACING AN OLD DOCUMENT UNDER AN EXISTING NAME, IT’S EASIEST TO DELETE THE PDF THEN DOING THE “ADD MEDIA” STEPS ONWARD, OR EVEN DELETE THE WHOLE ITEM AND START OVER.
How To Edit Email Notifications and Website Forms page Confirmations
- When logged in to WordPress:
- Scroll down the dashboard to VFB Pro
- Choose All Forms
- Choose the Form you want and click Edit

- Email settings (This is the notification email sent to the contact when their form is submitted)
- Scroll down to message box
- Write message.
- Click Save Changes

- Confirmation (This is what shows on the website page once the form is submitted)
- Scroll down to message box
- Write message.
- Click Save Changes

How To Export from WordPress: Adoption Applications, Volunteer Forms, Temperament Assessment Forms, Visiting Requests, and Foster Applications
1. Login to WordPress

Username: given to user
Password: given to user
2. Click WPForms (left hand side dashboard and scroll down)
3. Click Entries
4. Click Visiting Therapy Dog Request Form
5. Click “Export All” (top right)
6. Make sure all “Form Fields” are check marked
7. Under Additional Information, checkmark only “Entry Date”
8. Click “Custom Date Range”
9. Choose from and end date
10. Click “Download Export File” (save to your computer)
11. Open exported csv
12. Add the character | after each choice in columns
K – Facility Type
N – Age of Persons Receiving Visits
O – Level of Staff Involvement
P – Client’s Participation

14. Log in to Neon to Import

- Number 12 is dependent on the form. To import properly into Neon, the commas at the end of each choice, need to be replaced with | when there is more than one answer selected for the specific question. Following are the fields that need to be adjusted.
- Click top left corner of spreadsheet to highlight all; click between a column to expand columns; and scroll over to the applicable column. Replace all the “, ” with a “|”.
12. Temperament Assessments: “Type of Therapy dog” (if there is more than one listed)
